Yemi is the founder and director of Oko Farms.

Oko Farms is an Aquaponics Farm and Education organization in Brooklyn, NYC. In 2013, they established the NYC's 1st and only publicly accessible aquaponics farm - The Oko Farms Aquaponics Farm and Education Center in Brooklyn. In 2021 they established a their second site, also in Brooklyn. Both farms were created on formerly vacant lots and serve as a space for aquaponics farming education, food production, and research.

Their mission is twofold:

  1. practice and promote aquaponics as a sustainable farming method that mitigates the impact of climate change, and increases food security for New York City.

  2. Spread the knowledge and skills required to practice aquaponics farming by educating children and adults of all racial and socio-economic backgrounds.
